This older log home had been neglected for some time. The new owners knew somewhere within was the western home they were looking for. With the expertise of Chimenti Contracting along with their dream of having a home in the west we were able to transform this weary house into the magnificent western dream home.
This transfiguration touched every room in the house, moving walls, changing entrances, demoing the unfixable, and adding the new, including a garage which is framed construction but is finished on the outside with the appearance of log to match the log home.
The old entry became the new powder room.
By changing the direction of the stairway we were able to open up the kitchen and dining area, install a bar, and give the whole area an open feel.
The half log treads and log railing added the western feel this home needed.
For a unique feature Pete arched the logs on all the doorways and bar area.
The old bath was cramped and green. The new bath has more room with natural colors and a great tub under the window.
The large window looking onto the patio area was changed out for a working patio door trimmed with logs.
By moving the entry that came through the kitchen, we were able to make the kitchen more functional.
The old office area became part of the new entry with a parlor stove for that cozy feel.
The exterior that had been neglected was restored to make this beautiful log home look new.
